This series, entitled “Love from South Albany Street,” explores my relationship to the neighborhood I’ve lived in the past year and the complicated emotions I have toward it. I’ve watched two autumns from my bedroom window, memorized which yards I can cut across, the quickest route to my favorite coffee shop. I’ve seen people move into nearby apartments only to watch them move out a few months later. Everything is temporary in a college town – your living space, the people in it, and the relationships you have with those people. I love my neighborhood, my street, my apartment, but I know my time in it is coming to a close. I’m nostalgic for the memories I haven’t made yet.
